Olivia Povarchook Joins Odd Society Spirits as Bar Manager

Vancouver, BC | The award-winning East Van distillery, Odd Society Spirits, continues to raise the bar with the announcement of its new bar manager, Olivia Povarchook. Povarchook joins the Odd Society team after helming the bar and developing beverage programs at some of the city's most exciting establishments, including Uva Wine & Cocktail Bar, Juniper, Mosquito, Vij’s and Juke Fried Chicken.

An innovator in Vancouver’s vibrant cocktail scene, she has created a following for herself both behind the bar and online. Known for her incredible palate and creativity, she has flourished as a talented bartender and as a prolific influencer with her side project, Bitter Queens.

“We are thrilled to have Olivia join the Odd Society family,” said Miriam Karp, Odd Society Spirits general manager and proprietor. “We have developed a mutual respect through collaboration as Olivia is an advocate for craft distilleries and has been working with our spirits for years.”

As bar manager, Povarchook will put her stamp on the distillery’s cocktail program, highlighting spirits and liqueurs made onsite at Odd Society. She will be stirring things up this spring with a new cocktail menu and some creative events that are in the works.

In addition to her delicious cocktails, guests will be treated to her witty sense of humour and unwavering hospitality.

As Odd Society welcomes in the new, they also bid farewell to mainstays Chad Rivard and Mia Glanz. While Rivard is just moving a few doors down to the soon-to-open Straight and Marrow, Glanz (daughter of Odd Society Spirits founders Gordon Glanz and Miriam Karp) is relocating to Mexico. The family invites friends and fans to Mia and Chad’s Greatest Hits night, a loving sendoff at the distillery (1725 Powell St.) featuring their creations from over the years starting at 5pm on March 12.
