The GOODS from Ocean Wise
Vancouver, BC | On Thursday, June 18, the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre will open its doors for its signature annual fundraising event Night at the Aquarium. Now in its ninth year, the gala is a philanthropic event that directly supports the Aquarium’s important conservation, research and education programs.
Guests will embark on a journey to an enchanting aquatic world, learning about aquatic conservation while enjoying Ocean Wise™ tastings prepared by Vancouver’s top chefs. Executive chefs, such as Ned Bell of YEW seafood + bar, Alex Chen of Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar and Chris Whittaker of Forage, will prepare delicious Ocean Wise™ dishes to tantalize the taste buds.
Gala attendees will also enjoy live music from Vancouver’s premier event band, Side One, and have an opportunity to bid on amazing experiences and items in the live and silent auctions. This year, guests can bid on incredible experiences including a five-night stay at the Four Seasons Lanai at Manele Bay, Hawaii, and a four day, all-inclusive stay at Langara Island Lodge in Haida Gwaii. Items for the wine lover feature a Mission Hill winery package including two nights in Kelowna, dinner and live concert at Terrace Restaurant, private tour and tasting at the winery. Another highlight is the Vancouver Aquarium Board of Directors’ Wine Cellar which comes with a full-sized wine fridge and 30+ bottles of premium wines.
“Year after year, Night at the Aquarium has proven to be a magical, unforgettable evening dedicated to raising much-needed funds for our conservation, research and education programs,” said Dr. John Nightingale, president and CEO of the Vancouver Aquarium.
In 2014, Night at the Aquarium raised more than $400,000, which was used to support the Aquarium’s many conservation programs, such as its marine mammal research and rescue programs, some of the longest-running wildlife conservation programs on B.C.’s coast.

VIP tickets are available and include an exclusive pre-reception that takes place before the main gala where guests are invited to sample a premier selection of wine and Ocean Wise canapés from renowned chefs who are passionate about the Aquarium’s Ocean Wise sustainable seafood program.
