New Dishes Debut At ‘La Mezcaleria’ Alongside Expanded Tequila & Mezcal Options

Vancouver, BC | La Mezcaleria is welcoming the fall with new Mexican-style seafood options and daily brunch specials that provide a comforting meal away from home. Recently expanded Tequila and Mezcal offerings make perfect pairings with the new dishes, which are available at both the Commercial Drive and Gastown locations.

The Guisado Del Dia, a new highlight at brunch, is a daily special inspired by traditional Mexican home cooking. New dinner menu items place seafood on center stage, and include the Atun Taco, made with seared Ahi tuna, wasabi mayo, chili ponzu, shredded cabbage and cilantro. The Parillada De Mariscos, with giant whole prawns, tender octopus and Ahi tuna loin brings authentic Mexican flavours to West Coast staples.

La Mezcaleria has also launched a Happy Hour every Tuesday-Sunday, from 3PM-6PM. House Wine, Draft Beer, and refreshing Palomas, made with El Jimador Reposado, grapefruit soda and lime, are all offered at $5. Ceviche Callejero, with seasonal fish, tomato, lime, red onion, serrano and cilantro is served with tortilla chips for $6. The signature Quesito Fundido, a molten cheese fondue topped with either salsa verde or salsa asada, is available in individual serving sizes during Happy Hour for $8.

Roasted yams, nopale salad & seasonal vegetables on a hot stone with jalapeño cheese crisp. Corn tortillas.

    What Is Mezcal? Mezcal (also: Mescal or Meskal) is a spirit distilled from mash made out of the steamed hearts of various species of agaves. The word mezcal comes from the Aztec language, the Nahuatl, and means “cooked agave”: mezcalli from metl = agave, ixcalli = cooked. Historically, mezcal is the general term of agave spirits made in Mexico.
