the GOODs from Sai Woo

Vancouver, BC | Join in the Masquerade Ball at Sai Woo this New Year’s Eve and ring in 2016 in style.

Sai Woo opened its doors in Vancouver’s Chinatown neighbourhood this past March 2015 and since then has become known for its innovative fusion-style cuisine, original cocktails and intimate ambiance. These elements will all be at play on the night of December 31 as Sai Woo kicks off their first ever New Year’s Eve party from 7pm-2am.

Come for dinner and stay for the festivities. Sai Woo’s upstairs dining room and downstairs lounge will both be offering their regular dinner menus. Enjoy items such as their crispy chicken drumettes, coconut curry sablefish or a fried rice bowl with house-made kimchi. Locally-sourced ingredients are combined with globally-inspired flavours in each dish to create a dynamic dining experience.

Once you’ve feasted your fill, let the two DJs – one on each floor – set the tone and get the night going. And keep your eyes peeled for Toronto-based drag star Cassandra, who will be making the rounds with her cocktail dim sum cart throughout the night. Ask about her ukulele talents and she might even play a song or two for you!

Guests are also invited to part-take in the evening’s masquerade theme and come in elegant disguise. Whether bedazzled, feathered or sleek and simple, a party mask is encouraged attire at Sai Woo’s Masquerade Ball. Reveal yourself at the stroke of midnight or keep the intrigue going into 2016.

So come bid a fond farewell to 2015 and toast to the start of a new year at Sai Woo this season. Tickets for the Masquerade Ball are $45 and include canapes and a glass of bubbly at midnight.

For tickets visit www.saiwoo.ca or call 604-568-1117.

    ABOUT SAI WOO

In the heart of Chinatown an historic storefront conceals the secrets of Sai Woo. Our modern dining room serves globally-inspired cuisine created with fresh ingredients and surprising, lighthearted twists. Cocktails are crafted with precision using top-shelf liquors, fine teas, and exotic fruits. The original Sai Woo Chop Suey first opened its doors in 1925 and flourished as a local hangout for decades, preserving some of Vancouver’s oldest history. Our location is also remembered as the popular New Town Bakery but today, Sai Woo brings new life to this historical landmark with a modern and innovative menu.

We offer a 113-seat main floor dining area, bar, and Chef’s Table with a 75-seat lower lounge and bar, designed by the masterminds at Falken Reynolds along with Anna Walentowicz at Domain Creative. Restaurateur and owner Salli Pateman, formerly of Yaletown’s Section (3) of 18 years, has immeasurable industry experience with a solid team of expertise at her side. Award-winning bartender David Truscott oversees the bar, Shilo Francis and Tracey Page manage the front-of-house and Chef Keev Mah leads the kitchen.
