The Goods from Mon Paris Pâtisserie
Burnaby, BC | Mon Paris Pâtisserie Chef and Owner Elena Krasnova will write a second chapter for the popular pastry shop when she opens a new location in the heart of Olympic Village in Vancouver this spring at 1731 Manitoba Street.
Beloved for her modern and award-winning takes on classic cakes, chocolates, pastries and confections since opening the original Mon Paris Pâtisserie at 4396 Beresford Street in Burnaby in 2017, Krasnova’s new outpost will feature the same delectable daily creations but add a number of new items to the menu including Parisian baguette sandwiches and lunch-focused fare.
Located in the former site of Yandoux Pâtisserie and dessert parlour, Mon Paris’ Olympic Village location will occupy 1,150 square feet of space and offer seating for 20 in a cozy and bright space that hearkens back to the celebrated cafés of Paris that first enchanted Krasnova while she was attending the prestigious Ferrandi Ecole de Gastronomie.
“I’m so excited to bring Mon Paris to a new neighbourhood in Vancouver and look forward to transporting guests to the heart of the Paris café culture that I fell in love with,” says Krasnova. “I want to thank all of the people who visited us in Burnaby for the past eight years for their support and look forward to bringing a little of that same magic to this new location.”
Krasnova was born in Russia and grew up during the ‘Perestroika’ era when bare necessities were in high demand and developed her ability and desire to express herself in artistic ways by “creating something beautiful out of nothing”. Since opening Mon Paris, her artistic creations have been showcased In North American and European publications and garnered her the attention and esteem of top pastry chefs.
