The Goods from Banda Volpi
Vancouver, BC | Banda Volpi is proud to announce its participation in Negroni Week 2025, a worldwide initiative founded by Imbibe Magazine and Campari that has raised more than $5 million for charitable organizations since 2013. From September 22 to 28, Osteria Savio Volpe, Osteria Elio Volpe, Pepino’s Spaghetti House, and Caffè La Tana will feature an exclusive Cherry Negroni in support of Slow Food, a global nonprofit dedicated to cultivating a better world through community, sustainability, and hospitality.
“The Negroni has long been a signature in the fox famiglia’s beverage DNA,” says Sergio Parada, Banda Volpi Bar Manager. “Inspired by the Negroni Sour – one of Elio Volpe’s most-loved cocktails – we wanted to showcase something that embodies everything you already love about the Negroni with a nod to the changing season.”
Crafted with fresh black cherry juice, Tanqueray No. 10, Campari, Contratto Bitter, and Cocchi Storico Vermouth di Torino, the Cherry Negroni is clarified by milk-wash to achieve a silky, jewel-bright finish. The result: a strikingly clear crimson cocktail that marries sweet and tart fruit flavours with the Negroni classico’s hallmark bitterness.
“We take pride in showcasing the different superpowers each variation of a Negroni has, from the freshness of a Sbagliato to the smoothness of a Mezcal Negroni,” adds Parada. “A project like this allows us to broaden our understanding of what a Negroni is; though the technique behind the Cherry Negroni may be more complex than stirring equal parts gin, vermouth, and Campari on ice, it’s a drink with nuance that ultimately brings you back to what got you ordering a Negroni in the first place.”
The Cherry Negroni will be available September 22-28 at all Banda Volpi restaurants. This year, proceeds from Negroni Week go towards empowering Slow Food on their ongoing mission to encourage community-building and promote sustainable food systems, all in the name of hospitality.
