A “Perfect” Cookie At Elysian Coffee On West Broadway

IMG_9423

It goes without saying that not all cookies are equal, but in the case of this one at Elysian Coffee, there was a chasm between it and the rest. Indeed, if there is such a thing as a “perfect” cookie, this was as close to it as we’ve ever seen. Enjoyed mid-morning, it was slightly under-baked but still fresh; pliable, most, chewy — neither warm nor melty. The batter was buttery, but not overly so like a shortbread, and the chocolate to nut ratio may have been balanced by a surgeon. In short, a delicious $2.50 pleasure in a shame-free serving size.
