Industry | Colloquial | In Vancouver, when we say “that person is in the industry” we don’t mean that they’re a steel tycoon or a coal baron, we mean that they work in or around restaurants. There’s probably some deep insight into shifting economies and power structures to account for this, but we’ll leave that to the academics of 50 years hence.
