Greenest City | Slogan/Initiative | Mayor Gregor Robertson’s lofty goal has been to make Vancouver the world’s greenest city by 2020. It was a noble plan, to be sure, but considering the backlash against bike lanes, the fact that pretty much every city in Europe is greener, our penchant for petty infighting and regionalism, and our propensity to greenwash, we’re hardly on track. No one uses the term anymore, except to make fun of it.
