by Grady Mitchell | GAM Gallery at 110 E Hastings Street is hosting a unique event right now. Paper Presents is halfway between an art exhibition and a holiday pop-up shop. It features the work of over 20 local artists, among them Scout favourites such as Ola Volo and Sean Karemaker, all up for grabs at Christmas-y deals and tied together by a unifying idea: every piece is made from (or presented on) paper.
Curator Tarah Hogue points out that while there are plenty of craft fairs this season, Paper Presents is a bit different. First off, entry is free for both the artists presenting the works and the visitors who’d like to see (and hopefully buy) them. Secondly, every piece in the show has been specifically selected to ensure a wide spectrum of styles and prices.
The show is up now, with a reception complete with drinks and DJs planned for Friday, November 28th (from 7pm until midnight). For more info, visit Gam Gallery’s website.
