The Goods from Published on Main
Vancouver, BC | Published on Main (3593 Main Street) is pleased to announce the appointment of Aaron Matsuzaki as its new general manager. With nearly two decades of experience across some of British Columbia’s award-winning dining rooms, Matsuzaki joins the team to further refine the restaurant’s front-of-house program and support its ongoing commitment to ingredient-driven dining.
Most recently, Matsuzaki served as restaurant director of one of Victoria’s hottest new openings, Marilena Café & Raw Bar – helping them achieve several accolades, including being named Best New Restaurant by Canada’s 100 Best in 2024. He previously also held senior leadership roles with Aburi Restaurants Canada’s flagship Miku, where he assisted in shaping the service program at one of Coal Harbour’s most popular establishments.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Aaron Matsuzaki into the Published on Main family,” says Gus Stieffenhofer-Brandson, chef-partner, Published on Main. “With his great resume, he brings a deep understanding of what it takes to run a strong dining room. As we continue to evolve, his leadership will be important in supporting both our team and the overall guest journey.”
Matsuzaki first entered the industry in 2007, where he began as a manager at one of Western Canada’s most recognizable chains. Since then, he’s continued to further his front-of-house experience, all while working towards, and achieving, his WSET Level 2 certification.
His career has been defined by building high-performance dining rooms that balance precision, energy, and genuine warmth, which directly supports Published on Main’s ethos for creating a welcoming and approachable environment for guests. His leadership style emphasizes strong internal team culture, while continuing to push the standard of what great hospitality looks like.
“Published on Main has always approached hospitality with intention – there is a real sense of pride in what the team has built here in the past six years. I’m incredibly excited to join this team and help shape its next chapter,” says Matsuzaki.
Published on Main is open seven days a week, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Reservations are available online for both its a la carte menu and tasting menu at www.publishedonmain.com. Select seats are reserved for walk-ins each day.
