New Italian Restaurant ‘Artusi’ Set to Launch in New West on November 18th

The GOODS from Artusi

New Westminster, BC | “The best sauce you can offer your guests is a happy expression on your face
and heartfelt hospitality.” – Pellegrino Artusi

This Monday, November 18th, contemporary rustic Italian cuisine comes to Uptown, New Westminster. Named for the author of La Scienza in Cucina e l’Arte di Mangiar Bene (Science in the Kitchen and the Art of Eating Well), this cozy neighbourhood restaurant embraces less familiar yet deeply traditional cuisine. First published in 1891, Artusi’s book persists as the original Italian cookbook – carefully composed with precision recipes of culturally-defining cuisine from all corners of the nation – woven together with his passionate philosophies on our elemental relationship with food and hospitality. These inspirations breathe life into experience at Artusi.

A true family business and dream opportunity for Chef Delbert Cirfera, he and his partners are family and friends, born in Italy and raised in restaurants. Artusi creates classic dishes in updated style, with beautiful local & seasonal ingredients. Expect colourful plates, both robust and delicate; unified by purity of flavour and simplicity of design. Antipasto, salads, sandwiches, pastas, entrees and desserts will change with season and inspiration, but always fresh and authentically Italian. With menu pricing as comforting as the food itself, Artusi is intended as an everyday destination for warm hospitality and authentic flavours of Italy.

The tone of classic simplicity flows into the Bar, with a tidy selection of drinks composed by hospitality Hall of Famer (and New West resident) Jay Jones. An unassuming wine selection features classic Italian regions and varietals, plus select BC wines of character. A modest cocktail selection offers house renditions of the Spritz and Negroni, as well as a few auto sportiva-inspired signature creations. Beers proudly pour from New West’s own Steel & Oak and Another Beer Co., as well as Port Moody’s Parkside Brewery, with a couple of familiar Italians for good measure. A spot in one of the four bar stools should be highly contested.

Opening November 18th for lunch and dinner service, Monday to Saturday.
