Ghost Bike | Memorial | A Ghost Bike is a roadside memorial for a cyclist killed or seriously injured on the road. A bicycle is painted all white and locked to a street sign or fence at or near the crash site, usually accompanied by a small sign. They also serve to remind both cyclists of the risks they face and (hopefully) motorists of the live-and-death importance of sharing the road.
Usage: “I hope with all these new bike lanes we will see fewer ghost bikes.”
