Field House Brewing Officially Launches ‘Field House Farms’ on October 5th

One of our favourite Abbotsford destinations, Field House Brewing, is taking their beer operation to the next level with the official launch of their much anticipated Field House Farms.

To kick things off the Brewery is hosting a pop-up market on Thursday, October 5th featuring their first crop of autumn produce — we’re talking pumpkins, squash, watermelon, tomatoes, peppers and herbs all fresh from the farm and just in time for the holiday season.

While you’re there you might as well get prepared for the upcoming Thanksgiving long weekend by grabbing one of their festive “bundles”, which include a couple of integral dinner ingredients, a beer-inspired dessert recipe and, of course, a couple of seasonal beers to bring everything and everyone together properly (a growler of porter and Autumn Saison). And you don’t have to wait until you’ve made the journey home (nor would you want to) to taste a sampling of what the farm has to offer: the Canteen’s ‘Faspa Board’ already includes a few homegrown ingredients (honey and edible flowers), alongside an assortment of other delicious local meats and cheeses.

Field House has always emphasized community with their food and beer menus, but what’s really cool about their Greendale farm is that they aim to be entirely self-sustainable within the next two to three years. That means not only will they be growing their own ingredients but also composting the Farm’s soil with food waste and spent grain produced from their Brewery and food establishments.
