The Goods from Bacchus
Vancouver, BC | This fall, Bacchus Restaurant & Lounge, located inside Vancouver’s only Relais & Châteaux property Wedgewood Hotel & Spa, welcomes harvest season with three signature culinary experiences – Fall Afternoon Tea, executive chef Stefan Hartmann’s Bavarian-inspired Oktoberfest celebration, and its classic Thanksgiving brunch and dinner. Guests are invited to make reservations now online.
At Bacchus, fall is not only about the flavours of the season but also about the rituals of gathering with loved ones,” says Elpie Marinakis, co-owner and managing director of Wedgewood Hotel & Spa. “We’re excited to celebrate autumn’s bounty with our annual series of special dining experiences. Each event, from our Afternoon Tea, Thanksgiving traditions, to Oktoberfest, truly brings people together.”
FLAVOURS OF FALL AFTERNOON TEA
Available on Saturdays and Sundays from September 20 to October 25, 2025, Afternoon Tea returns with a seasonal menu by pastry chef Samson Iza-Fellows ($75 per person++). Guests can enjoy finely cut gourmet sandwiches such as Turkey & Cranberry on artisan whole wheat and Devilled Egg with local salmon caviar, alongside freshly baked scones and crumpets with clotted cream and housemade preserves. The pastry selection includes Hazelnut Salted Caramel Profiteroles, Pear Ginger Crumble Verrine, Pumpkin Cheesecake Tartlets, and a selection of seasonal macarons.
OKTOBERFEST AT BACCHUS
From September 19 to October 5, 2025, Bacchus brings a taste of Bavaria to downtown Vancouver with a two-course Oktoberfest menu by Chef Hartmann. Guests can expect hearty dishes, such as Poached Bavarian Weisswurst (sweet mustard, housemade pretzel bun) and Bavarian Oktoberfest Platter (schnitzel, bratwurst, Bavarian meatloaf, crispy porkbelly, sauerkraut, red cabbage, cheese spaetzle, mashed potato), paired with German beer and wine selections.
THANKSGIVING DINNER
On Sunday, October 12, and Monday, October 13, 2025, guests can enjoy a three-course table d’hôte Thanksgiving dinner, complete with live piano entertainment. Priced at $85++ per person ($55 for children 12 and under for a two-course menu), the feast includes: Honey Braised Pumpkin; Slow-Roasted Sage Turkey Breast & Roulade with brussel sprouts, red cabbage, caramelized chestnuts and herbed stuffing, whipped potato purée, turkey gravy and cranberry sauce; and a Pumpkin Pie with candied pecans, caramel sauce, and vanilla ice cream for dessert. A BC wine pairing option ($55 per person) is also available.
Bacchus is also offering a special turkey brunch feature dish during Thanksgiving.
“Fall is all about the harvest and it’s one of my favourite seasons to cook,” adds Hartmann. “We’re featuring ingredients such as pumpkin, pear, and spiced nuts, along with traditional Thanksgiving favourites such as roasted turkey with cranberry. Oktoberfest is particularly special to me, as it allows me to share my German heritage through dishes inspired by Bavarian traditions.”
