DINER: Rotisserie House “Nosh” Opening In The Old “Mistral” Space On West Broadway

059

A new 28 seat shop/restaurant called Nosh will soon be selling “hand-crafted meals to go” in the old Mistral space at 2585 West Broadway. The owners, Sandra Scott and Tony Scott, are a mother/son duo from Toronto. They’re both first timers, with her background being in manufacturing and his in IT. The chef will be John Ly, formerly a senior sous at Pier 17. His parents own a Vietnamese restaurant in Surrey, so expect to see “mama’s recipe” Banh Mi among the many sandwich offerings. Nosh will specialize in rotisserie, and by specialize I mean they’ll be spinning everything: chicken, duck, pheasant, pork, beef, even veggies. In their own words (excuse the all-caps):

NOSH IS FRESH, HANDCRAFTED MEALS SERVED IN A SNAP. NOSH IS SUCCULENT ROTISSERIE, BRAISES SLOW COOKED WITH CARE AND CRISP, DELICIOUS SALADS. NOSH IS TAKE-OUT FINALLY DONE RIGHT. NOSH NEVER REFERS TO ITSELF IN THE THIRD PERSON. THAT’S ARROGANT. SO WE’LL STOP NOW. WE’RE JUST A BUNCH OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU WITH AN INHERENT PASSION FOR GOOD FOOD AND QUALITY INGREDIENTS. VISIT US A FEW TIMES AND WE’LL SOON BE ON A FIRST NAME BASIS. BUT WE’LL NEVER GIVE YOU “THE USUAL”. THAT’S BECAUSE THERE IS NO USUAL HERE. EVERY MEAL IS EXCITING, EXCEPTIONAL AND UNIQUE. JUST LIKE THE PEOPLE WHO DINE HERE.

Nosh will be licensed with beer and wine on tap (via the Vancouver Urban Winery). Opening day is scheduled for January 12th.
