Check Out Wes Anderson’s ‘Isle of Dogs’ Storyboard Artist Workshop in Vancouver

Vancity Theatre sold out of tickets for its April 12th Storyboard Workshop with Jay Clarke the very same day the email announcement arrived in my inbox (Clarke is none other than the storyboard artist for Wes Anderson’s latest animation feature, Isle of Dogs). Of course we wouldn’t be telling you about this if there wasn’t good news for us over-thinking and spam-filtered unlucky types.  You’ll be happy to learn that the organizers are already working to facilitate a second workshop event.

While they sort out the details, keep one eye on your inbox and have this tab open on your phone and/or computer internet browser so you don’t miss out on a potential second chance!

Clarke and Anderson previously worked together on The Grand Budapest Hotel, which won an Oscar and a Silver Bear award. In addition to speaking about their collaborations, Clarke will also be explaining his creative process and providing a live drawing performance on the big Vancity screen.

If you’re anything like me, you felt queasy with anxious anticipation of the Isle of Dogs’ theatre release within seconds of seeing the trailer for the first time a few months ago. Not that anything tied to Anderson needs justification of its outstanding creative ingenuity and calibre, but if you haven’t seen the trailer yet then check it out below:
