You Need To Try This Bubbling Bowl of Cheese-Capped Curry Rice With Pork at Dosanko

We slipped into Dosanko a couple of times this past week, seduced by the Japantown restaurant’s genuine warmth and interesting yoshoku dishes and Hokkaido classics. Delicious case in point: this simple Japanese curry with chopped pork, cheese and pickles ($17).

The hot bowl arrived bubbling and aromatic, and though entirely satisfactory on its own (if not borderline indulgent) it could have been supplemented with vegetables, egg or piece(s) of tonkatsu. Ideal for sharing, but why would you want to do that?
