“Space Lounge” Loses Orbital Integrity And Slams Into Uranus

IMG_1320

Habib Babei and Shahab Habibi’s rather bizarre “Space Lounge” – an unlikely to succeed outerspace-themed late 80’s monstrosity at 1149 Granville – has been slapped with a Distress Warrant for $82,223.53. ABC Professional Bailiffs was recently instructed to seize as much from the property, with an additional seizure fee of $12,333.53 for the carting away of all the astronomical motifs within. It’ll be some auction, that’s for sure. While we’re not exactly sure what went wrong with their business plan, I think it’s safe to assume the rent was out of this world.

  1. Has this place been there since the 80s?! On a Granville bar hop run one year we checked this place out. Bizarre it was, but it wasn’t the worst experience.

Had it not been in this city, it may have survived.. better yet, they should have just opened it as a club (with dim lighting – it was too awkwardly bright in there) and not served any food.

  2. Nope. Nearly two years, I think. It’s the concept that was from the 80’s. It looked like a Frankie Goes To Hollywood acid trip in there.

  3. “While we’re not exactly sure what went wrong with their business plan…”

    Two words: Space Poutine.
