Ask For Luigi’s short but sweet wine list is no slouch (currently 8 reds and 10 whites), but you might want to consider starting your meal there with an Aperativo Spritz, which is their batched and bottled take of the summery North Italian classic, the Aperol Spritz. Not only is the tried-and-true mix of prosecco, Aperol and soda from Padova a beautiful, light and refreshing beginning to any meal, it also helps to whet the appetite, which you’re going to need at this award-winner.

We also think the gentle, citrusy sparkler – first served at the Railtown restaurant in the grey, wet autumn of 2015 – makes for a drinkable counterstrike against rainy days like today. Think of it as a bright, low alcohol holiday fist in the face of overcast misery. Follow it with something especially rib-sticking, like their signature meatballs or crispy tripe.
