You Need to Try the Chicharito Cocktail at Mt. Pleasant’s Como Taperia

You Need To Try This is a running archive of all the awesome drinks and delicious dishes we’ve come across over the course of our professional and private lives.

Want a simple cocktail that tastes like the liquid distillation of all that is sunny, fun and good in this world? Well, there’s a lot to be said of the classic margarita in this regard (see our list of Vancouver’s best), but here’s a deliciously lively alternative: the Chicharito at Mt. Pleasant’s new Spanish-inspired Como Taperia. Named for soccer star Javier Hernández Balcázar’s sobriquet (which translates as “Little Pea”), the refreshing palate-kicker sees tequila, mezcal and agave sweetened, soured, and spiced with some fresh lime, a little salt and a broad rim lick of pimenton. Best enjoyed at the standing bar during Happy Hour (4pm-5pm).

Neighbourhood: Main Street
209 East 7th Avenue
