Vangroovy | Nickname | Of all the nicknames for Vancouver, this one has to be the worst, likely due to it’s painful accuracy. The Urban Dictionary entry is fawning when it should be lambasting, but at least it mentions the awful past-time of skim boarding. Perhaps it references our hippy past, which is fine. We did have a number of sit-ins, but to use it in a modern context is reprehensible.
