Stanley Cup Riots | Event | The last two appearances by the Vancouver Canucks in the Stanley Cup Finals have resulted in riots. They were very different from each other. The ’94 riot saw an un-prepared VPD lose control of a (relatively) merry crowd when paramedics tried to reach a man who had fallen from a lamp post. The 2011 riot saw a younger generation hellbent on reliving the glory so they could post it to social media while a remarkably patient VPD watched carefully so as not to provoke an irate crowd of binge-drinking Bridge & Tunnel assholes.
