Brunch Club | Restaurant Slang, Stereotype | A new and largely uniform style of boho-chic dress favoured by affluent young women who gather in groups of 4-10 on Saturday and Sunday afternoons at trendy Vancouver restaurants serving brunch. The Brunch Club costume adheres to a studied dishevelled look designed to suggest that the wearer “just threw whatever on” when she crawled out of bed an hour ago. Think floppy hats, toques, baseball caps, boyfriend jeans, heels, $80 t-shirts, multiple necklaces at once, and an iPhone on permanent Instagram-hunt mode. Mimosas are a dead giveaway.
Usage | “Dude, I almost got my head ripped off from seat 2 at that Brunch Club table. All I did was ask her who her favourite Yankee was. I guess she just likes the hat…”
