(via) We’re digging the inside and out of this “cabin” that looks out over a lake in Northern Idaho. Imagined and executed by Seattle architects Olson Kundig, the beautiful, mostly open plan building relies on concrete, plywood, steel, and glass to express its different zones, including a living area that appears to be anchored by a towering cylindrical fireplace. Though not huge in terms of square footage, it nevertheless looks like it was paired with the grandeur of its immediate environment (check out the height of the door in the second to last frame below!). We’d happily take ours up from the beach on one of the southern Gulf Islands, preferably Galiano.
