Last year, American artist Neal Peterson created a series a large, Buddhist art-inspired mandalas made up of original street photography. The repeated, ringing images include all manner of architectural details, colourful graffiti, and a range of natural elements. To the Minneapolis-based artist, the mandala form captures “the blossoming, fractal nature of cities […] these kaleidoscopic microcosms represent the oneness and connectivity of a city and its people.” He made six Urban Mandalas in total, including this especially beautiful one of Vancouver:
