Provence Marinaside Features Fairview Cellars in Fall Supper Winemaker Dinner

The Goods from Provence Marinaside

Vancouver, BC | On Tuesday, October 29th, Provence Marinaside celebrates the bounty of the harvest season with a very special Winemaker Dinner featuring the wines of Fairview Cellars with special guests Danielle and Dermott Hutton.

The Huttons, who purchased the Golden Mile boutique winery from legendary Okanagan wine pioneer Bill Eggert when he retired in 2022, are well known from their past careers in Vancouver’s hospitality sector at restaurants such as Blue Water Cafe and West. In 2020, while still under Eggert’s ownership, Danielle Hutton took over the reins as Fairview’s General Manager and apprentice winemaker under Eggert while Dermott assumed responsibility as the vineyard manager. This event marks their first winemaker dinner outside of the winery and features mainly wines that they have made – the one exception being the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon which is poured with the last course.

“In France, Fall Suppers are traditionally about community coming together to honour the end of the vendage,” comments Jean-Francis Quaglia, Provence’s Owner and Executive Chef. “Our six-course dinner features typical hearty autumn fare such as Paté, Rabbit Fricassée, Beef Tenderloin, Pears and blue cheese. We’re also pleased to include Flavour Theory Chocolates in the last course. These artisan chocolates are created by our former sommelier Rachelle Goudreau, who relocated to the Okanagan a few years ago to pursue a new venture in confectionary.”

Wine Director, Joshua Carlson and his team visited Fairview Cellars in the summer of 2023 to work with the winery on developing wines for the restaurant’s ‘wines-on-tap’ program. “In my opinion, Fairview Cellars makes the best Cabernet Sauvignon in the whole valley,” says Carlson. “A few months ago, Danielle was in town, and she met with me, and Chef Richard Hondier from Provence’s kitchen team. Together we planned the menu and the pairings that will demonstrate the exceptional depth of flavour these wines exhibit. I’m very excited to present them for the first time in a winemaker dinner outside of the Okanagan.”

This October, imagine yourself in the south of France, or the south Okanagan, at this very special celebration of the harvest. Tickets are priced at $199.99 per person including taxes, gratuity and Open Table booking fee. Dinner details and reservations are available on Provence’s website.
