Vancouver, BC | “What are you doing New Year’s, New Year’s Eve?” asks Ella Fitzgerald in the classic jazz standard. There are so many dining options out there it’s hard to choose, however New Year’s Eve at Provence Marinaside promises to be a cork-popping celebratory affair filled with wonderful food, fine wines, bubbly champagne and lively music. “We wanted to create something elegant where people could indulge and celebrate at an affordable price,” says Provence’s Owner and Executive Chef Jean-Francis Quaglia.
Guests are presented with two dining options – a three-course New Year’s Eve Prix Fixe Menu for $84/person with an optional three course wine pairing (including champagne) for $71 or a special A La Carte Menu including favourite dishes from its regular menu. Prices for the individual à la carte dishes range from $25 to $62.
New Year’s Eve is synonymous with the sound of popping corks and Provence’s well-stocked wine list of Sparkling Wines and Champagnes contains a dozen by-the-glass options ($12-$44) as well as more than two dozen available by the bottle. Celebratory sips range from budget favourites such as Bottega Il Vino dei Poeti Prosecco Brut (Treviso, Veneto, Italy) at $50/btl, and Summerhill Pyramid Winery Cipes Brut,(Kelowna, Okanagan Valley, BC) $60/btl through to the very special occasion extravagance of Louis Roderer Cristal Brut (2009 Reims, Champagne, France) at $800/btl, Krug Vintage Brut (2002 Reims, Champagne, France) $825/btl and Piper-Heidsieck Cuvée Rare Brut (1998 Montagne de Reims, Champagne, France) at $1,500 for a 1500 ml bottle. The collection also includes two very special limited editions – Dom Perignon featuring label and box artwork by Jean-Michel Basquiat and Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame with artwork by Yayoi Kusama.
To add to the celebratory atmosphere, Gary Comeau and his Sounds of New Orleans will be entertaining guests with Louisiana-inspired jazz, roots and blues from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Reservations are available beginning at 3 p.m. with the last reservation at 10:45 pm. Reservations booked at 9:30 or later will be able to stay through Provence’s traditional New Year’s countdown with Chef Jean-Francis.

Christmas Dinner Reminder: For those of you who do not wish to cook Christmas Dinner, Provence is offering its popular Turkey-to-Go Christmas Dinner for pick up on December 24. Each meal is fully cooked, just heat and serve. Each meal includes carved turkey, roasted vegetables, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, dinner roll, and chocolate fondant. Everything you need to enjoy a Christmas dinner without the chore of cooking it for just $49/person. Orders are accepted up to December 22.
