Pirate Pak | Food | A kid’s meal container made of thin cardboard folded and printed in such a way as to resemble a pirate ship. A fun fixture for British Columbian kids since 1968, the Pirate Pak – invented by Nat Bailey, founder of the White Spot chain of restaurants – typically contains a burger, fries, drink, ice cream and gold foil-wrapped chocolate coin. They are only sold to adults on one day a year, Pirate Pak Day, which typically falls around the middle of August with proceeds going to benefit a local charity.
