New Restaurant ‘Beehive Kitchen & Bar’ to Launch in Kitsilano This Summer

A new casual Canadian restaurant called Beehive Kitchen & Bar will soon replace the Oakwood Canadian Bistro at 2741 W 4th Ave. I took a quick look inside the space yesterday and was told that renovations were only just beginning. The frontage has already been given a complete makeover with new branding prominently displayed. Details at this point are scarce but the expectation is that Beehive will open before the end of summer.

The Oakwood, recently closed after an 8-year run, will be missed. More details soon.

  1. That’s quite the indictment considering it hasn’t been built yet. How do you think the Canucks are going to do next year?

  2. Can confirm, I walk past everyday, the exterior changes are tacky. Everyone in the neighborhood comments on how terrible it looks.

  3. I had the opportunity to have a sneak peak this week! Going to absolutely fantastic, the Team in place is amazing. Exciting addition to a great location.

  4. Best kept secret in Kitsilano, amazing happy hour, large portions, Randy is a wonderful server. Pasta nights are great. ????5

  5. Peggy, what restaurant did you visit? I finally ventured in a little over a month ago and it was truly one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in a long time. Food was bland, nothing was fresh or seemingly made in house. Orders were consistently done incorrectly. Decor is strange. Service was mediocre. I think it’s fine to keep it a secret.

  6. Andrew sounds like you are a bit racist. The Beehive is great blows the Oakwood out of the water. The Oakwood went bust it was so good.!!

  7. LOL @Chucks Begg, how did you possibly come to the conclusion that I’m “racist” because I had a bad experience at this restaurant and didn’t like the food? What an absolutely ludicrous comment. I’m surprised it even got published.
