Cheap Negronis & Hot, Potato Starched Chicken Wings At Pidgin In Gastown

IMG_9359

Though we have an incredible cocktail culture in this city, it still pales in comparison to the great drinking corners of the world, places like San Francisco, Seattle, New Orleans, and London. Happy Hour just might be the kick in the ass Vancouver needs, and now that it’s legal, it’s good to detail what’s out there.

From 5pm to 6:30pm, French/Asian-flavoured Pidgin in Gastown cuts the prices of Tiger beer, wine, classic cocktails – eg. Margaritas, Old Fashioned, Negronis, etc. – and matches them with a 50% off food special. It’s an awesome deal, especially in Gastown, where cocktails are often expensive.

Right now the food special is 24hr buttermilk and spice-brined chicken wings crunched with potato starch and drizzled with sticky-zippy gochujung-based sauce — a hot, impactful bargain at $6, and happiest next to a cheap, properly made Negroni. Check it out!
