Fayuca to Close Yaletown Location, Open at New Mt. Pleasant Address

After a two year run in Yaletown, the north pacific coast of Mexico-themed Fayuca restaurant at 1009 Hamilton St. will be moving to a new address in Mt. Pleasant this summer. Here’s the official announcement. We hope to have more specifics soon.

Fayuca is moving to East Vancouver. The month of June is your final chance to experience Fayuca in Yaletown. We say goodbye to Yaletown, celebrating our 2 year anniversary on Wednesday, June 12.

Fayuca is moving to Main Street in Mount Pleasant. The month of June is the final chance to enjoy the acclaimed North Pacific Mexican food, drinks, and atmosphere of Fayuca in Yaletown until the Fall. In July, at Fayuca’s current Yaletown location, a new restaurant operated by the same ownership group, along with some new partners, will open in its place.

“It has been an amazing two years in Yaletown. We’re really excited to introduce Fayuca to East Vancouver as well as launch a new restaurant concept in Yaletown. As an East Van resident I am happy to take our beloved Fayuca concept back home. We look forward to celebrating this new beginning with everyone with some sips of mezcal at the party,” says Fayuca’s Ernesto Gomez.

Fayuca is inspired by the free flow of flavours and ideas across borders, up and down the Pacific Coastline. Fayuca’s menu is a collaboration between Vancouver’s Ernesto Gomez (Nuba, Chancho Tortilleria), Mexico City’s Jair Tellez (Laja, MeroToro, Amaya), and Tijuana’s Martin Vargas (Biko, MeroToro). It was named one of the top new restaurants in the country by enRoute Magazine, and best in the city by the Globe and Mail, the Vancouver Sun, and many more.

“The Mount Pleasant neighbourhood can look forward to a Fayuca that is a bit more casual but shares the same fun, tasty menu that reflects our commitment using sustainable products from only the best farms and suppliers,” says Fayuca’s Martin Vargas.

We invite all our friends, family, and supporters to join us Wednesday, June 12 to celebrate the two year anniversary of Fayuca with an evening of food, drinks, music, dancing, and fun. The private media, friends, and family event starts at 6:00pm. The doors open to the public at 7:30pm, and the party will continue until the early hours of the morning. RSVP is required.
