A “Crab Park” T-Shirt From Vancouver’s Own Ole Originals

IMG_8906

Located at the north end of Main Street where Gastown gets its feet wet with Railtown, Crab Park is a beauty. It’s real name is actually Portside Park, and to be honest it’s not really a park (it’s more like a long-term loan by the Port Authority). Still, it’s the closest glimpse of the ocean to Scout headquarters in Strathcona, so we have a soft spot for it (it’s even defined in our Lexicon). All of that is to say that we’d love to pick up one of Ole Originals’ recently released Crab Park T-shirts, which are hand-printed right here in Vancouver ($35).

    EVERY COOL THING WE WANT

    1. It is actually called Crab Park. It means ‘create a real available beach’. Don Larson and a local group of concerned citizens who formed Crab Water For Life Society, made it a reality in 1987. There’s a small placard as you leave the park going south onto the overpass explaining the story behind it.
