2026 CSA Guide: The Best Produce Box Programs in Vancouver. Score Before It’s Too Late!

Buying into a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program is one of the simplest ways to eat better while directly supporting local farms. You pay up front, receive weekly produce through the growing season, and build a relationship with where your food comes from.

In practice, that means fewer last-minute grocery runs, fewer limp greens by day five, and more meals built around what’s actually in season. After sorting through dozens of programs and talking to farmers and serious vegetable obsessives, we’ve narrowed this guide to the CSAs worth considering for 2026, with clear notes on pricing, pickup logistics, and who each one suits best.

Athiana Acres

Cropthorne Farm

Farmers on 57th Society

Location: South Vancouver (near 57th & Heather)

Total cost: Full Share $680 (Early Bird) / $780 (Regular); Biweekly Share $425
Share size: 6 to 11 items per box; urban-grown produce
Pick-up: On-farm; Tuesdays, 3pm to 6pm. Notes: The Full Harvest Share runs weekly through the main growing season, offering a steady mix of familiar staples and seasonal favourites. New for 2026, biweekly shares are now open to all members, with alternating-week pickup for those who want the quality and connection without a full weekly commitment. Flower subscriptions continue at approximately $25 per bouquet, alongside access to tours, U-pick berries, and rotating seasonal extras. Members pick up directly from the farm, giving them regular contact with the people growing their food and a clear sense of how the season is unfolding week by week.

What we like: One of the few true working farms still operating inside city limits, with long-standing member loyalty and a strong community mandate. Run as a non-profit that supports people with disabilities and low-income neighbours, and tended by hand using ecologically sustainable methods without pesticides or chemical fertilizers. DETAILS

Farm-to-Plate Marketplace

Location: Vancouver (multiple community hubs)
Growing practices: Sources from multiple partner farms and food producers; organic status varies by producer.

Total cost: Pay What You Can (no fixed total; subsidy available up to $10 per order)
Pick-up: Thursdays and Fridays at multiple locations (times vary by location); delivery available depending on order volume and location

What we like: A community-run, pay-what-you-can marketplace designed to make good food more accessible without stigma or awkwardness. Built around collective ordering, shared purchasing power, and partnerships with local farms and organisers, it keeps more food dollars circulating locally while offering practical, dignified support. Glen Valley Organic Farm

Location: Abbotsford / Fraser Valley

What we like:  Not a subscription. This is a convenient weekly CSA. Ordering is dead easy: just submit your order by Tuesday afternoon and slip in to pick up on Thursday. Plus, there are options to add pantry items, including Harvest’s famous salted chocolate chip cookies. Plus, if you have the time, you can sit down for a bowl of their rice noodles with almond-hazelnut sauce, charred chilli, and greens – so good!) DETAILS


Salt & Harrow

Location: Delta / Tsawwassen
Growing practices: Certified Organic.

The Sharing Farm

Location: Richmond

The Sharing Farm runs a community-focused CSA that feeds its members while supporting food security programs across the region. Weekly harvest baskets centre on practical, seasonal vegetables, grown with care and a strong commitment to access and inclusion. New for 2026: every share includes a weekly swap box, so you can trade one item you’re not excited about for something you are. Farmstand Vouchers are also available as add-ons, giving you flexible, pre-paid access to strawberries and other seasonal treats at the farmstand on Thursdays and Saturdays.

What we like: Memberships directly fund fresh food access for others through the farm’s food security work, combining reliable weekly produce with practical solidarity. DETAILS

Sweet Earth Farms

Location: Fraser Valley / Metro Vancouver
Growing practices: Mixed sourcing from partner farms, but all good sources close to if not fully organic

What we like: A coordinated system that bundles vegetables with eggs, bread, dairy, protein add-ons, and extras, making it one of the few CSAs that can replace a good portion of weekly grocery shopping. Expect 8 to 10 veggies, fruits, and sometimes even mushrooms, with the option to sign up for summer or fall seasons. Full Share includes eggs, bread, local cheese, and extras; There is also a ‘Just Veggies’ option that focuses on produce with seasonal extras. DETAILS


UBC Farm

Location: Vancouver (Point Grey / UBC Campus)
Registration: Spring 2026 (waitlist available) Details
Season: June 9 to October 24 (20 weeks; exact dates TBA)
Total cost: $675
Share size: 5 to 9 items per week; certified organic produce
Pick-up: UBC Farm; Tuesdays, 4pm to 6pm, or Saturdays, 9:30am to 12:30pm (members commit to one day for the season) Saturday pickup runs alongside the farm’s multi-vendor market. Members must bring their own bags or containers. There are no alternate pickup times or holds for missed shares.

What we like: A long-running, certified organic campus farm that quietly does the work of feeding students, neighbours, and curious cooks year after year while strengthening research and community. Boxes lean practical rather than flashy, with a steady mix of staples plus some lesser-known vegetables for variety, and pickup feels closer to a weekly ritual than a transaction. DETAILS


Valley Buds 

Farm Location: Squamish Valley
Growing practices: Small-scale, seasonal growing; no public organic certification but no nasty chemicals!
Registration: Open Details
Season: Mid-July to early October (veg); mid-July to late September (flowers)
Total cost: Vegetable Share (12 weeks) ~$420. Flower Share (12 weeks) ~$360 (tax included). Combined ~$780.
Pick-up: Antisocial Skateboard Shop (new location), 1965 Main Street, Vancouver; Thursdays, 12pm to 6pm.
Vegetable boxes include rotating selections of all the good stuff: tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, kale, salad greens, potatoes, cabbage, basil, onions, garlic, beans, peas, squash, melons, peppers, leeks, corn, and seasonal herbs and they grow 70+ varieties of flowers.

What we like:  One-stop pickup for both veg and flowers PLUS you can score some fresh kicks or a deck at Antisocial Skateshop while you’re at it. Some of the coolest growers in the land. DETAILS


WHY WE CARE


CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture) aren’t just a nice idea — they’re a very good one. You get a box full of fresh, seasonal (usually organic) produce straight from the farm, and in return, you’re backing local growers who care about how food is grown. That means fewer chemicals, less transport, and veg that actually taste like something. Plus, every dollar stays in the local economy, instead of funnelling off to industrial farms over the border. So, yes: great for your plate, but also a quiet vote for the kind of food system we should all want more of.
