Table #14, Snug And Windowside At Railtown’s ‘Ask For Luigi’

Many months ago we posted a reader’s poll listing what we considered to be the top five restaurant tables in Vancouver. We received so much in the way of reader feedback – both positive and negative that we’ve decided to shine a brighter light on the subject, one excellent table at a time.

When the multiple award-winning Ask For Luigi opened in late 2013 they positioned a pair of tables – #14 and #15 – in the sunny window that faces onto Alexander St. (to the right when you walk in). They started life as deuces but grew up to become four-tops; they can also – if need arises (eg. during staff meals, as seen in top photo above) – accommodate even more. Of the two, #14 is best on account of its extra few feet of distance from the front door. As the small, casual Italian-themed restaurant is first come first served (no reservations), we advise that you show up early with crossed fingers. To eat: signature meatballs and any one of the handmade pastas.
