The GOODS from The Acorn
Vancouver, BC | The Acorn is set to officially launch their all-new cocktail program on Friday, August 19th. Developed collaboratively by bar team Liam Bryant and Aimee Corno, the five newly listed cocktails reference back to a diverse range of classics and more obscure recipes from bars around the world.
The Wind-Up Bird, which borrows its name from the Murakami novel of the same name, takes the Japanese Cocktail as its primary inspiration and spins it into something all together unique.
Hennessy V.S Cognac, Yuzu Liqueur, shiso infused Noilly Pratt Dry Vermouth, ginger syrup and bitters are mixed and served with a small tasting of plum and black sesame jam. The combination of the beverage and uniqueness of the garnish adds an experience and dimension to the drink unlike anything The Acorn has done before.
The Cock-A-Tail on the other hand is a fresh stab at the Tiki classic, The Jungle Bird. Coconut infused Havana Club 3 Year Rum is shaken with locally made Woods Spirit Co. Amaro, lime juice and an apricot Riesling half syrup.
Rounding out the list is The Royal, Pisco Inferno, and Peach, Plum, Pear; three refreshing summer cocktails made for sipping before a delicious meal or enjoyed as a nightcap.
