We hinted at this the other day when we reported on La Buca and Pied-a-Terre owners Chris Stewart and Andrey Durbach (interview) selling the L’Altro Buca spot to pick up the Ping’s Cafe location on Main Street. Carol Gadsby and Luciano Loi are indeed reopening their Ligurian concept, Adesso Bistro.
Cheffing the 110 seater (not including bar) will be the very capable Sean Sylvestre, formerly the executive chef at The Beach House and for years the sous chef to Pino Posteraro (interview) at Yaletown’s esteemed Cioppino’s. They take possession on the 12th of May and hope to have a soft opening on May 20th, just in time for prime patio season, which I’m sure they’ll take full advantage of, as they have one of the very best in the city. More soon…
I have heard that Jason Pitschke formerly La Maison Boulud of Beijing, China and Daniel’s in New York, Cioppino’s of Yaletown has joined the team as pastry chef. I have sampled Jason’s pastries and been very impressed with his creativity and taste. I look forward to the opening of this restaurant with great anticipation.
