About Popina Canteen

Opened in the Summer of 2018, Popina Canteen is the collaboration of four of Vancouver’s top chef-owners: Angus An, Robert Belcham, Hamid Salimian, and Joël Watanabe. It’s fast food made better, with the highest-quality ingredients from local farmers, fishers and suppliers. The award-winning chefs collaborate on each seasonal menu, providing their own spin on food that reflects their individual cooking styles and backgrounds. The result is pretty fast food with something for everyone: crave-worthy cheeseburgers, fried chicken sandwiches, salads, and seafood.

Popina Canteen’s signatures include: the Puffcream, a soft cream puff filled with a swirl of original-recipe vanilla soft serve ice cream and loaded with a choice of crunchy toppings; Hammer’s Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich (Sundays Only); and seafood platters stacked with the freshest whole crab and lobster with homemade dips and sauces.

Happy Hour runs daily from 6pm until close (free parking after 6pm), with food and drink specials attracting tourists and locals alike. Watch for pop-ups with guest appearances by other top-tier chefs and bartenders.

Popina Canteen is open daily, year-round, and accepts bookings for private events. Guests will find the casual eatery anchoring the northwest corner of Granville Island, boasting a dockside patio and bar with a spectacular view of scenic False Creek.
