Does all this cold weather have you pining for warmer climes? Do the next best thing. Pretend! Score yourself a seat at one of the Flavours of Mexico City dinners that are going down this week. The series features three of Mexico City’s top chefs joining forces with three fantastic local chefs over three nights (giving the truly ambitious a chance to sample all three menus). Chef José Manuel Baños of Aguamiel will be cooking alongside Chef Tret Jordan at Homer Street Cafe; Chef Mario Espinosa of La Encomienda Polanco will slip into the tiny kitchen at Burdock & Co. with Chef Andrea Carlson; and Chef Gerardo Vázquez Lugo of Nicos sets up at Cacao in Kitsilano with Chef Jefferson Alvarez. The dinner series was deliciously previewed last night at La Mezcaleria in Gastown and as you can well imagine everything tasted like it wasn’t a frozen mess outside. Seriously. Such good food! The menus can be read here and reservations can be made at each of the host restaurants, which we’ve detailed below…
