Vancouver, BC | We are looking for a motivated individual to fill the position of Junior Coffee Roaster at our Roastery/Head Office in Burnaby, BC. This entry-level position provides an excellent opportunity to learn about coffee roasting by assisting our roasting team. This is a role with room for growth, and opportunity to become further involved with roasting over time.

The ideal candidate would possess the following skills:

Strong organizational skills
Scientific mind and interest in coffee roasting
Exceptional communication skills and ability to take direction
Reliable and punctual
Team player and a self-starter
Excitement and commitment to working towards learning about coffee roasting
Interest in specialty coffee, coffee roasting, and sustainable sourcing

Duties & Responsibilities

Organizing green beans
Weighing out green coffee
Assist in loading the roaster and getting roasted coffee to the packing team in a timely manner
This role involves regularly lifting 30 kg bags
Gradually learning about our approach to roasting coffee and evaluating production roasts

With commitment and time, there will be an opportunity to learn how we roast and eventually take on some roasting duties.
