New “Back & Forth” Bar To Bring Ping Pong And Pints Model To Gastown

It’s said that drinking and sports aren’t big buddies. I don’t think they mean ping pong and pints. It’s a fun game to play over beers, which is why journeyman restaurant veteran Regan Truong is opening his Back & Forth bar later this month at 303 Columbia Street (and why it’s been a success for others in cities further afield). The 38 year old former Donnelly manager took possession of the old, 3,000 sqft Whiskey Bar location on January 1st and has been busily turning it into his dream spot. The 150 seater comes complete with six full-size ping pong tables (rented by the hour), board games galore, 12 beer taps ($5 per sleeve) and a snack menu that includes Chef Boyardee, Instant Ramen, Pizza Pops and potato chips.
