Burnaby, BC | Mon Paris Pâtisserie is renewing an annual culinary tradition that celebrates the dawning of a new year by unveiling the latest edition of its popular Galette des Rois (King’s Cake) for 2025 at the beloved Burnaby pâtisserie (4396 Beresford Street).

A delectable creation that dates back centuries and remains a popular tradition in cultures across Europe and North America, each Galette des Rois features a buttery puff pastry crust and a creamy filling and contains a tiny charm — or ‘fève’ — to be discovered by one lucky person who is then crowned king or queen for the day.

Mon Paris Owner and Head Chef Elena Krasnova’s chosen flavour for the pâtisserie’s eagerly anticipated 2025 Galette des Rois is Orange Almond Frangipane. Each galette is $40 plus tax, serves eight, hides a porcelain bird fève and is topped with a paper crown for a treat truly fit for royalty.
