Minami Unveils New Happy Hour Menu, Beginning Friday, June 20th

The Goods from Minami

Vancouver, BC | Minami (1118 Mainland Street), Yaletown’s destination for contemporary Japanese cuisine, invites guests to raise a glass with the launch of its new Kanpai! Happy Hour menu. Available starting June 20, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily, the menu features savoury bites, special sips, refreshing non-alcoholic options, and more, alongside its regular menu.

Inspired by Japan’s popular nomikai culture, where work friends gather for drinking parties to have fun and bond, the menu, with all small plates between $4 to $16, encourages sharing and sampling of a variety of dishes, including Aburi Fish n Chips (cocktail-sized fish and chips, lotus root chips), Gyoza (pork or prawn), and Chicken Karaage (soy ginger marinated chicken, togarashi corn rib, karashi mayo).

“Happy Hour is a great time to catch-up with friends, co-workers, and/or simply to have a great afternoon meal, and our new menu is both approachable and delicious, giving guests a great way to unwind in the afternoon,” says Barnaby Malong, General Manager of Minami. “We’re excited to bring people together for a quick bite or spontaneous kanpai (cheers in Japanese) moment.”

On the sips front, the beverage list (priced from $5) includes a curated list of Minami highballs and non-alcoholic creations such as the AmericaNOA Zero Proof, Apple Lemon Hibiscus Spritz, and Little Emperor Zero-Proof, as well as guest favourites like the Minami Martini (butterfly-pea Sheringham Kazuki Gin, Soho lychee, Aburi ginjo sake), and Local Esspress-O. The line-up also includes a rotating local beer, sake, and wine selections, such as Okanagan’s Winemaker’s CUT for $7 a glass or $35 per bottle.

For a sweet finish, guests have the option of ordering Minami’s classic Petite Green Tea Opera.

Chef Lupe Villanueva adds, “Happy Hour is a chance to have a little fun and showcase menu favourites and also new dishes. Everything is meant to be enjoyed casually, over good conversation and great drinks.”

Minami’s Happy Hour menu is available daily, starting Friday, June 20, 2025, from 3 to 5 p.m. It is open seven days a week for lunch, happy hour, and dinner service. Guests can make reservations on OpenTable or by calling 604-685-8080. For more information about Minami, please visit www.minamirestaurant.com.
