JoF2017

On June 24th, UBC Farm will once again be converted into an international picnic for the 6th annual Joy of Feeding fundraiser. The singular culinary event – created by Vij’s and Rangoli chef/co-owner Meeru Dhalwala – is a multicultural smorgasbord prepared by 13 Vancouver home cooks who will be sharing their cherished family recipes. This year’s represented heritages are Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, Chinese-Jamaican, Colombia, England, India (Goa), Indonesia, Iran, Portugal, Russian-Korean, Syria and Trinidad & Tobago. While you treat your tastebuds to this gastronomical world tour you can wash it all down with a selection of local beer and wine. The day also consists of guided farm tours, children’s activities and an assortment of food-related educational booths. Not only is the event an opportunity to expand your palate in a positive and beautiful communal environment, but by attending you’ll also be contributing to the UBC’s Centre for Sustainable Food Systems program and the future of food security.
