Local Brewers To Lace Up For Beer League Bash At Britannia Ice Rink, March 11th

by Ken Tsui | With over 1 million Canadians lacing up their skates and hitting the ice every season, there isn’t a Canadian winter pastime more essential than beer league hockey. But let’s be honest, it’s all just a prelude to the sound of freshly cracked beers and plenty of good times. On March 11th, Bomber Brewing is rallying 16 of the tastiest breweries in town for The Beer League BASH at the Britannia Ice Rink. This is the ultimate beer league to end all leagues with 100% of proceeds going to BASH, Britannia After School Hockey.

Part craft beer festival, part hockey tournament, this is your chance to raucously cheer on craft brewery teams from Bomber, Parallel 49, Vancouver ‘Craft Beer All-Stars’ and the Suburban ‘Craft Beer All-Stars’ as they battle it out on the ice while Yellow Dog, Strange Fellows, Steel & Oak, Steamworks, Red Truck, Powell Street, Parallel 49, Moody Ales, Main Street, Luppolo, Doan’s, Central City, Callister, Bridge and Coal Harbour Brewing pour tasters on the rink’s concourse. Tell me that’s not a dream come true!

Each ticket scores you three taster tokens (additional tokens are $1.25) as well as entrance to the After Party hosted by Parallel 49 at Britannia Hall. Pro-tip: every clean, gently-used hockey item donated to the BASH program (I.E. pair of elbow pads, helmet, socks, sticks, etc.) nabs you an extra token, because cheers. Heckle your favourite teams on the ice, taste some of the best beers in town, all for a good cause? Yep, it’s pretty much a hat trick. See you there!

The 3rd Annual Beer League BASH
Saturday March, 11th | Britannia Ice Rink (1661 Napier Street)
