A long time ago we posted a reader’s poll listing what we considered to be the top five restaurant tables in Vancouver. We received so much in the way of reader feedback – both positive and negative that we’ve decided to shine a brighter light on the subject, one excellent table at a time. You’ll find more great tables here.

While any of the comfortable booths will do at Chinatown’s Bestie, Table #5 stands out as superior. We’ve mentioned it before (in the original poll that launched this series) and for good reason. Not only is it perched higher up and sequestered in a corner away from every other table, but it also has the late-night take-out window to look through for some quality Pender St. people-watching (while washing down your delicious leberkase and sausage with steins of Sunday cider). I’m also a big fan of the brightly coloured vinyl-sided bench seats. They are super soft on the bum, and they adorably respond with a deflating pfft sound when you first sit on them.
