The key that turns the ignition of your palate doesn’t have to be complicated. Case in point: pickled vegetables. When done well they can subtly zap the mouth and ready it for a cocktail onslaught. Doing the electrification for me recently were these diverse, literally mouth-watering beauties offered up at Mt. Pleasant’s Tocador. Followed by a classic daiquiri, they were an effective way of putting a good evening in gear.
