A Seat At An Alsco Staff Picnic Table On W. 4th

IMG_0553 IMG_0543

The next cool thing is the bright green wooden picnic table outside the old Alsco building at 5 West 4th Avenue off Ontario St. where Mt. Pleasant descends into Olympic Village. There are actually four picnic table sets, and they are all distributed along the southern length of the massive heritage structure. Though ostensibly reserved for company staffers out on their breaks, the cozy seats are nonetheless free for everyone to use at all hours of the day and night. We highly doubt that they date back to the construction of the building itself (102 years ago) but they’ve been beckoning passing butts for as long as we can remember. Grab a coffee from Elsysian (a couple blocks south) and make use of them, but be sure to jet if any Alsco peeps are in evident need of a sit-down.
