We Embrace Our Total Incompetence In The Snow

snow

by Andrew Morrison | The next cool thing is snow. You’ve probably heard a few uppity imports from other Canadian cities – especially those Back East – poking fun of us for not being able to function with any measure of confidence in the stuff. And you know what? They’re right. We totally suck at snow. Even an inch of it paralyzes this city. But it doesn’t matter. Let them have their fun. We have an ocean, an annually competitive hockey team, and really good marijuana, so it all comes out in the wash, right? We should not only embrace the stereotype, but also the rarity. Your boss will understand if you’re stranded because the buses aren’t running and you only have summer tires. Don your garden gloves and shovel the sidewalk with a plastic spade. Go for a hike without boots (because you don’t have any). The best thing about snow here is that it doesn’t last long, so get out there and enjoy it!
