CANUCKERY: On The Best Hockey Game Ever And Your Predictions For Round 2

I’ve seen thousands of hockey games in my life, and last night’s Game 7 against our seemingly perennial nemesis Chicago was hands-down the best I’ve ever had the pleasure to suffer (relive the final heady moments above). Jim Hughson may have exclaimed in his HNIC broadcast that “it’s a wonderful day for an exorcism”, but as a friend noted in the wake of Burrows’ goal, it felt more like “a cross between a breached childbirth and an orgasm”.

It’s just been confirmed that Game 1 of Round 2 against the Nashville Predators will go down tomorrow night, 6pm at Rogers Arena. This is Nashville’s first dance in the second round, and though I trust we’ll lambada their brains out by Game 6 (allowing my sadly sparse, post-pubescent beard to live on), it’s been an excitingly even, low-scoring year between the two teams. We split the season series against them 2-2, so I don’t expect a waltz, especially considering how close we came to shitting the bed in Round 1. Still, I like our chances. All-time, we’re 15-8-1-1 against the Preds at home and 14-10-1-0 in Tennessee. For a preview, click here, and to make a prediction, vote below…
